‘Waysides’ an exhibition of drawings, prints and paintings by the River Tweed and other places.

Dry Point Image Tweedsmuir.
Brian Hindmarch is a Yorkshire based artist/printmaker known for his depictions of landscapes. In the last 40 years he has drawn inspiration from Scotland, Ireland and the ‘Dales’ specifically in relation to the influence of literature.
The River Tweed in its uplands and Lowlands, as described for example by John Buchan, gives evocative descriptions of wood, sea, hills and those watery places so evident in this region. These are inspirational sources from which to search along ‘waysides’.
Brian has examples produced from drawings, paintings, photographs and studies which then serve to be transformed into etchings and drypoint prints.
The results are individual gestures of special locations not always seen on the ‘scenic routes’.
