Support Us

Your support is vital in enabling the Museum to fulfill its mission of collecting, storing, preserving and recording Biggar and Upper Clydesdale’s rich archaeological, social and historic heritage. The museum relies on funding from a wide range of sources and there are many ways you can support us to help ensure the display, care and preservation of the collection for future generations.

As an independent trust and registered charity the museum receives no Government funding so has to raise all its income. If you would like to help support the work of the museum your donation would be much appreciated. You can donate by clicking on the button below or by sending a cheque. Thank you.

Volunteer

There are many, varied roles for volunteers from meeting & greeting our visitors, serving at the reception desk and shop, doing our shop window display. If you like being with people and have an interest in history being a guide might appeal to you.

Your support is making a difference

The financial contributions from the Friends of Biggar & Upper Clydesdale Museum are invaluable to the running of the museum.

To date the Friends have kindly given funds to buy a whole variety of items including conservation materials for our extensive archive of photographs and improving the packing & storing of items such as Queen Victoria’s mourning dress, a laminator, a lectern, a ‘medieval’ seal matrix, a badge-maker and funded a story-teller! All much appreciated.

Become a Friend of Biggar Museum

Help Biggar Museum become even better by joining us as a Friend!

The Friends of Biggar & Upper Clydesdale Museum is a charitable organisation founded in 1991. It operates independently of Biggar Museum Trust and runs its own affairs through an elected committee.

Their membership fees of £15 a year go directly to the Trust and they organise a range of fund-raising activities. There are also opportunities for Friends to be involved in the day-to-day running of the museums. Members enjoy benefits, such as free entry to the museum and a 10% discount in the shop.

For further information about the Friends scheme, please contact the interim Chair Charlie Todd at kandctodd@gmail.com or click below and complete the sign up form.
