Behind The Scenes
What appears on public display in most museums is only a small part of the museum collections and the culmination of much behind the scenes preparation. Our museum is no exception to this.

Collection Overview
To bring an object to display it needs to have a story, so research needs to be carried out, be display ready, so conservation or cleaning may need to be done, interpretation i.e. text writing – be it a label or a panel or possibly an audio file needs to be written or recorded. Mounts need to be made to display the object securely, attractively and accessibly. Then once on display objects need to be monitored so they are not being affected by light, temperature, humidity or even pests.
