Exhibition running from 23rd May – 26th July 2026.

‘Treasures from the Attic’ is a collection of the Artworks and Treasures we hold in the Museum’s attic that, like most museums, the public never get to see.

Some of the artwork we will be displaying will include works by Robert Gemmell Hutchison (1855-1936), William Crozier (1893-1930) and John Pairman (1788-1843), all of whom have a connection to Biggar.

Treasures will include some of our silverware and a magnificent clock made by James Plenderleith, a joiner from Biggar, whose family were well known in conservation practices in museums.

More details to follow.

Free Entry to Exhibition.

Museum open Tuesday – Saturday 10-5pm and Sunday 1-5pm.

‘On Tinto Hill’ by Robert Gemmell Hutchison painted 1888. It is of the artist’s wife, Janet Boe of Biggar, and first born daughter, Maud.
