UPCOMING EXHIBITION
WWI: An Intimate Artistic Community Response

12th October - 16th December (Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm)
Biggar Museum is excited to announce our upcoming exhibition featuring work by local artists and art groups. These artists were invited to the Museum to view selected WW1 artefacts from the museum archives and respond in their own artistic style. Using media such as drawing, painting, photography, sculpture or textiles and produce a piece of artwork to interpret their reaction to the items from the collection.

Alongside these Artworks will be Objects and Archives from the Museums WW1 collections.

Special Exhibition
'Ages of Wonder: Etchings', a Touring Exhibition from the Royal Scottish Academy

7 July - 30 September 2018

The Art of Etching tells the story of fine art printmaking in Scotland, from the work of John Martin to the best printmakers of the present day. The exhibition combines work from the RSA collections, with the new prints created during Ages of Wonder by artists Delia Baillie, Kate Downie, Stuart Duffin, Paul Furneaux, Jessica Harrison, Marion Smith and Frances Walker.

There will be a special Curator's evening on Wednesday August 29th, 4 pm - 5:30 pm.

What’s On – Events – Lego Image
Saturday 6th April, 10am to 4pm Sunday 7th April, 1pm to 4pm A fun day out for all the family! Come along to see a large display of awesome Lego sets like a Disney castle, Simpsons house, Ghostbusters house and Star Wars Slave 1. Keep an eye out for the unusual sets like ‘Ship in a bottle’. There will be space for kids, big and small, to build their own crea-tions. There will be a selection of new and used Lego for sale, with at least 150 sets and 400 figures. Exhibition Space for Hire
An ideal workspace for community activities and local exhibitions.

During the winter months Biggar Museum is hiring out the special exhibition space to local communities and organisations. We offer a workspace ideal for lectures, workshops and events. The space includes access to kitchen, W/C's and independent access to the museum when used outside museum opening hours.
