The Biggar & Upper Clydesdale Museum opened on 28 July 2015, and contains the combined collections formerly housed in Moat Park Heritage Centre and Gladstone Court Museum. It is an independent museum managed by Biggar Museum Trust, and is heavily dependent on the fantastic work of our volunteers. The staff are Jennifer Court, the Museum Manager and the part-time Curator, Dr Suzanne Rigg.
The museum values the incredible contributions that our volunteers have made throughout the years. From till operators, cataloguing, archiving, maintenance and more, our volunteers are vital to the day-to-day operation and management of the museum and we are very lucky to have so many dedicated to Biggar Museum.
We are always looking for new faces to add to our museum community and if you are interested in join us, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
The Museum is open to visitors daily except Mondays from April to October inclusive, and on weekends from November to March. For the Museum to be open to visitors, we need at least two volunteers for each morning or afternoon period to staff the reception desk and carry out front of house duties. Full training will be offered. No special skills are needed other than an interest in people, the local heritage and in presenting the Museum to visitors.
This independent museum is operated without any external regular financial assistance and has to depend on income from admissions, retail sales, donations and the support of volunteers. Please help us with a donation to continue our work.

Their membership fees of £15 a year go directly to the Trust and they organise a range of fund raising activities.
