This 17th Century house was rescued from its original location at Wiston about 13km away. It was re-built and furnished in the Burn Braes, Biggar in 1975. On visiting Greenhill you return to the troubled century of the signing of the National Covenant and of the 'Killing Times', when people were hunted down for worshipping in open fields, rather than attending state controlled churches. "The Solemn League and Covenant Cost Scotland blood, cost Scotland tears: But it sealed freedom's sacred cause, If thou'rt a slave, indulge thy sneers. " R. BURNS Greenhill Covenanters' House is also available for use as a film location.
